How do I keep a couch/ sofa/ love seat slipcover in place?

I have a slipcover on my couch that is 2 pieces (cushions are separate). When people sit on the couch, the back part pulls up reveling the original couch fabric from the back. After sitting on it a couple times, the slip cover will completely come over
Some people put velcro applications on the sides. Some velcro applications have a tape backing or you can sew them on.
fabric glue is another choice, some glues are washable but be carefull with them.
