Why doesn't the fan come on without heat or ac....lennox heat pump and honeywell thermostat, need circulation?

Moved in 6 mths ago. Ac and heat great, but have a Blaze Princess wood stove..lovely but doesn't get heat downstairs..Want air to circulate, I have this feature on thermostat..but even though followed all instructions it doesn't happen...thank you for
There should be a switch that is for the fan with an "on" and an "auto" position.
The on position should run the fan continuously.
If not something is wrong.
