Is it possible for an 09 Honda Fit Sport to carry a 4x8 Motorcycle Trailer?

I'm moving from Tennessee to California with my boyfriend and he is wanting to bring his motorcycle with him on a trailer and I was wondering if that would do serious damage to my car? Also I know it suggest for me to use a class 1 trailer hitch, but
