I had my alternator replaced yesterday, now my check engine light is on? Any idea why?

I'm sure it could mean anything, but could it be related to the new alternator? The light didn't turn on until the next morning.

Could be lots of things on many different models of car (you didn't specify), low or high voltage, low battery, slack belt, blown fuse, etc. Best bet is to take it to somewhere that can read the error code from the computer (reason check engine light
